Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s) have replaced traditional VCR’s for video recording.  These new devices offer a much higher quality and many easy to use features such as searching by Time and Date and searching by movement.  The typical system stores images to the DVR’s hard drives for several weeks, and some systems can be configured to store video for several months.

Our typical DVR allows you to use familiar VCR style controls such as fast forward and rewind to search for recorded footage.   We offer DVR’s from many manufacturers including Honeywell, GE Kalatel, Nuvico, Dedicated Micros,  Bosch & Pelco, and prices for DVR’s start for as little as a few hundred dollars.

Remote Monitoring Software

Our digital video recorders include remote viewing software that allows you to view live or recorded video from your computer.  

Through the internet, or over your internal network, you will be able to view and control your digital video.  Ever wonder what is happening while you are away?  Now you’ll know!

The remote monitoring software also allows you to record video directly to your computer.  From there you will be able to save video, print images and even email the video to the authorities. 

 

High Resolution Cameras

Best Defense offers a wide variety of different cameras.  Our most popular camera (shown to the right) is a vandal resistant fixed dome camera.   The camera offers 550 lines of resolution and has a varifocal lens allowing our installer to zoom your picture to the desired level during installation.  The lens also offers an auto-iris feature which adjusts to changing light conditions.  The majority of our cameras automatically switch from color to black and white in low light for the best available low light image.   As an option we can add infrared illuminators to this camera as well as a heater for outdoor use.   Wall mounts are available.  These cameras are also very reasonably priced.   Many other types and styles of cameras are available to meet the specific need of each customer.

 

Pan/Tilt/Zoom Dome Cameras

Need higher resolution to view license plates?  Have a large area to view?  Need to stop drive-offs?   A high resolution Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera may be the option for you.  

Pant/Tilt/Zoom cameras (PTZ’s), can pan 360 degrees and tilt 180 degrees, moving left and right / up & down to cover large areas.   Each of these cameras also has anywhere from a 10 power zoom lens all the way up to a 35 power zoom lens.

Best Defense offers PTZ’s ranging from our economical 10x PTZ, perfect for catching convenience store drive-offs, to our 35x, for large areas such as parking lots or auto dealerships. 

If you need the ultimate in resolution we can even set you up with a MEGApixel PTZ that offers true digital resolution.

Each of our PTZ’s are manually controllable through a joystick, and can also be controlled remotely through most of our DVR options.

 

Deterrence Factor

Best Defense works with our customers to maximize the deterrence factor of their camera systems.  We provide signage and decals to promote the fact that activities on your property are being recorded, decreasing the likelihood that theft or vandalism will occur.
